Valletta Waterfront Cruise Fair & Open Weekend
07 March 2011
With a vast selection of brands under one roof, cruise aficionados and first-timers alike will be spoilt for choice.
The Valletta Waterfront Cruise Fair which will be held in the Magazino Hall (next to the Police Station) from 17 to 20 March, is the only event of its kind, focusing exclusively on cruise holidays with a wide range of brands, itineraries and prices.
The cruise fair is open from 6pm to 10pm on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th March, and from 10am to 10pm on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th March. Entrance is free.
In the meantime, visitors to the Valletta Waterfront will be able to enjoy an eclectic programme of animation, events and displays forming part of the Valletta Waterfront Open Weekend.
The old power station will be hosting an art exhibition by established artists including Stephen Grima and Gilbert Fenech, who will be raising funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Complimenting it will be a unique interactive exhibition by the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs, focusing on the Restoration Directorate's work on the restoration projects of the fortifications of Valletta, Mdina, Birgu, and Gozo Citadel.
Throughout the promenade Valletta Waterfront outlets will be providing special offers and promotions, including activities for children such as Pizzaioli for a Day. On Sunday one can enjoy an authentic WWII historical re-enactment including demonstrations with live weapons and aerial attacks.
During different times throughout the weekend, children and adults alike can join special animated historical tours, board a tug boat for a guided tour and watch fantastic water displays by the same. All free of charge.
Animation including a Thomas the Train bouncing castle, face painters and balloon modelers will ensure that kids are kept entertained the whole time.
Throughout the weekend, parking will be available on the quays across the old power station at discounted prices.
