Cruise Passenger Movements November 2011

Cruise passenger movements in November reached 48,039.  This was 10% less than the figure for November last year (48,578).
 
The November results means that since January of this year, there was a total of 541,530 cruise passengers, which is 10% more than the full year 2010 and 16% more than the period January to November 2010.

For Valletta Cruise Port, where financial year runs from December to November, the results for November means that, the financial year 2010 / 11 which ended last month, was a record year.  During financial year 2010/11, Valletta Cruise Port handled 565,547 cruise passenger movements, 20,000 more than the previously record year of 2007 / 2008.  There were four maiden calls in November.  These were Costa Favolosa, the Celebrity Equinox, the P&O Oceana and the Seabourn Quest.

Valletta Cruise Port is pleased that this result was achieved during its anniversary year.  The Company desires to register its appreciation to the local agents, the Malta Tourism Authority, Air Malta, Malta International Airport and Transport Malta who are working in partnership with Valletta Cruise Port to develop the cruise sector in Malta.
