The Festive Season at the Valletta Waterfront
From a variety of dining experiences to convenient parking, and a designated children’s area, the Christmas season at the Valletta Waterfront promises to be an ideal destination for all the family.
The Valletta Waterfront destination combines food and beverage, retail and entertainment outlets within a maritime hub, which for the past ten years has proved to be a highly popular destination with Maltese, sea passengers and tourists alike. For those in search of a relaxing evening of good food and entertainment, the Valletta Waterfront’s many restaurants and bars present a variety of offerings catering to different tastes, with dining right at the water’s edge.
It is an exquisite place at any time of the day: relax with a coffee in the morning watching the small boats bobbing along, or the recently inaugurated Laguna Marina, occasionally the bigger cruise ships with all their activity; a nice bite to eat at lunch-time with beautiful scenes of the water, the ships and the port; and a lovely meal of whatever takes your fancy at sundown. A perfect opportunity to enjoy the balmy Maltese winter weather - with inside seating, and heated outside areas for colder days.
One can wine and dine, or have a snack at any of the twelve restaurants, providing perfect dining experiences for every taste and pocket, and dining genre: from Oriental to Mediterranean – fish, pizza, pasta and succulent grills, making this venue an outstanding dining location for the whole family and the most discerning diner. Visit our Restaurants section and Bars and Clubs to learn more about Christmas specials offered by each outlet.
Browse the shopping outlets for interesting gifts – from jewellery, to that book you’ve been meaning to buy but haven’t got round to buying, hand-made ceramics, local glass and more. Visit our Retail section for more information.
Gift vouchers redeemable at any of the Valletta Waterfront outlets are also available for purchase from the Valletta Cruise Port offices via email on email@example.com
An addition to the Valletta Waterfront as from the beginning of December is a children’s area, with additional roaming children’s animation along the promenade. This is available on Saturday evenings, Sunday afternoons and public holiday afternoons.
Mass is also celebrated at the small chapel on the Valletta Waterfront every Saturday night at 19.30hrs. A special mass on Christmas Eve is to be held in Sagrestia Vault, just behind the Chapel, at 20.30hrs.
Parking is also convenient. Presently, one may park on the quays (fuq il-moll) at Euro 2.50 flat rate at any time of the day, excluding Christmas’ Eve and New Year’s Eve; in the Atrium parking located in the middle of the promenade, or free of charge at a large public parking area opposite the old Coleiro Winery.
Welcome the New Year with a four-minute fireworks display over the Grand Harbour and a confetti display on the promenade, courtesy of Valletta Cruise Port and the Valletta Waterfront tenants. Children’s entertainment is also available on the night. Visit our Restaurants section and Bars and Clubs to learn more about New Year's Eve specials offered by the different outlet.
